Measles can spread to other people easily.
Patients who have an appointment to come into the practice should not attend if they have:
Please contact the surgery and one of our clinicians will call you back.
For more information on measles, please visit the NHS website.
Our new Dr. iQ app is designed to help you get help and support more conveniently as an alternative to calling the practice.
It is early days in the roll-out, and so far we have seen over 8,200 patients download the app. This has helped patients get answers and support without having to use the phone line. This is easier for them, and also helps other patients get through more quickly.
We know some patients have had technical problems getting the app to work for them. We have a helpline to assist with this and you can either email support@dr-iq.com or call 02037433033.
Other patients have comments, questions and suggestions about Dr. iQ and our local patient participation groups (PPGs) have helpfully shared these with us. We have provided our responses below which we hope you find helpful.
Thank you for your questions. We are working hard to get you quicker access to our teams. Dr. iQ is a big step forward and is making a difference but we appreciate changes can be frustrating. Please do share any other questions, comments or suggestions you may have about Dr. iQ with us directly or via your local PPG (details on our website) so we can work together and get you the answers you need.
Thank you,
Claire Osborne
Practice Manager
When is Dr. iQ ‘open’?
For administration queries, like chasing a referral or changing your contact details, you can leave a message anytime day or night on Dr. iQ. These queries are answered by our team during our normal working hours.
When seeking medical help and advice, we try to keep Dr. iQ open as much as possible during our normal working hours. Very occasionally we may have to stop offering medical help via Dr. iQ before 6.30pm – this is so our GPs and clinicians can make sure all our urgent patients get seen that day.
Is our data protected on Dr. iQ?
Absolutely yes. Your data is protected in accordance with the Dr. iQ privacy policy: https://www.dr-iq.com/privacy/
How do I view my medications list so I don’t need to type this in each time?
Please request your linkage key on the app and this will allow you to see more of your medical record on Dr. iQ, including repeat prescriptions.
Can I book appointments such as a blood test on Dr. iQ?
You can book appointments like blood tests via the NHS app. You will be able to do this soon via Dr. iQ and we will let you know when this is ready.
Why do I see self-help advice?
Based on the information you provide via Dr. iQ, you may be offered self-help advice as the best way to help with some issues. You can of course still submit the consultation to the practice to be reviewed by a clinician.
Do patients need to use the Dr. iQ and NHS app together?
At the moment, yes. You can use Dr. iQ to ask us a question and request a consultation with a GP or another member of our clinical team. You can use the NHS app to book appointments such as blood tests. You cannot book GP appointments on the NHS app.
Is Patient Access still available?
Yes, but you can only use Patient Access or Dr.IQ. You can use the NHS app alongside either Dr. iQ or Patient Access.
Why can’t I see my appointment in Dr. iQ?
This feature is currently in development. You can see your appointments on the NHS app.
Will I definitely see a doctor if I book through Dr. iQ?
Our doctors review all consultation requests made through Dr. iQ and on the phone, and decide who in their team is the right person to see you. This means you will get the right advice, face-to-face or phone consultation as quickly as possible from a GP, a nurse, pharmacist or another member of the clinical team.
Is there a specific option for women’s health reviews and HRT consultations?
Not at the moment, but this information is picked up in the information provided and then the patient is directed to the practice’s women’s health support that way.
